Getting Back into Diving after a break

In this video, Jakub Slama gives us some helpful tips on how to return to the water with a rebreather after having a long break from diving. In the first part of the video, he covers the following:

  • Positive and Patient Attitude
  • Get Fit Again
  • Get a Health Check
  • Follow Current Government Guidelines
  • Get Your Gear Ready including, batteries, O2 sensors and cylinders
  • Follow the Assembly Checklist

In the second part of the video, Jakub gives some suggestions on what to do before going out to the "real" water diving, including, diving in the pool, creating a skill checklist or doing training. He explains the importance of adjusting gradient factors or take a refresher course to help to build back on confidence in diving and prevent accidents.

Finally, Jakub provides some recommendations on travelling after a long time together with the passport expiry date check and awareness of travel disturbances.
